DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Mismos Puntos is a cinematic exploration of the many roles society assigns to women, told through iconic scenes from classic films with  female protagonists. Stripped of dialogue and reimagined through dance and movement, these moments reveal the unspoken emotions and inner worlds behind each role.

The idea began with a desire to highlight the alienating nature of modern society and the roles it imposes on women. How has technology influenced patriarchy? When will women truly live free, without stereotypes and remnants of the past? Is the advancement of science and technology enough to help us move beyond this way of life?

The selected films portray strong female characters navigating intense psychological states. And yet, they persevere. In one way or another, the women rise above their circumstances. But what is the cost? What  is the impact on them? Are they truly happy?
